Following below are the 4 first issues of GameWeek Magazine and the Mechwarrior of the Universe Extra. This is the forum we used for news, recaps, trashtalking and information. They are of course original, some text is in Swedish and won't be as fun if you don't know the story behind the guy who wrote them so they will stay Swedish Jump to: Mechwarrior of the Universe Extra The only truth GAMEWEEK Brings the latest to you ********************************************************* Issue 1 LIAO "VICTORY" Liao won their initial fight against the Brady Bunch with 17 to 3 in an orgie of luck. After winning the bidding against the heroic Burt Brady the intiated the battle with so good positions that even the Death Commandos would have won, the battle started with some of the bunch mechs having trouble with their gyro stabilizers due to computer viruses (see article below) and caugth some LRM flights in the back almost crippling a Crusader. After some LRM changes the battle closed and so did the heavy firing. Liao Death heads teamleader cap. killed scored several hits with his Rifleman on the charging mechs of the Bunch. Due to the viruses the targeting systems also malfunctioned which caused several of the Bunch's shots to miss at nearly point blank! Liao death heads then ended the battle with a lucky shot from one of their Hunchbacks right in the head of Ed Hades mech which ended Ed's life (R.I.P) No comments on the defeat/victory has come yet from either Sian nor New Avalon. -Mike Reebok Hendrik of Oberon's Greates Victory Ever ? This match was very similar to the one with death heads an Bradys Bunch although Hell Surfers put ut some more resistance than the Bunch did. When Surfers had viruses the Ghost Riders could win the match after some heavy battling with 17-3, the figures are somewhat missdirecting cause surfers had some Riders mech's on the edge of destruction. Starting with a bad position Surfers couldn't use their massive firepower and good tactics and got a JagerMech shot to pieces by treacherous backstabbing Riders. At their superb positions the Ghost Riders could pick the Surfers mech's off one by one. Worth noting although is that hot shot Jawohl of the riders scored 2 kills one blow and one scalp, the blow caused death of Marik young promising pilot STIG O'HARA may he rest in peace. Reports from planet oberon is that this victory has caused people to partie for hours and Hendrik himself has said -" this means we are among the big and are even better", and that comes from a man who ownes a needle in a haystack compared to Marik and the others. But why not be happy while you can.............. -Dick Rambo RAVAGING COMPUTER VIRUSES!!!!!! Computer viruses has been reported from both Marik and Davion camps and the reports are heavy stuff. The virus attacks both the targeting computer and the main computer and makes changes in programs. This has caused marik and davion to lose their initial fights. The virus has now been removed by specialist from the Institute of Science on Nev Avalon. The technicians say that the virus has been planted by agents from NME house/s and it ain't Kurita. -Dick Rambo TEAM REPORTS: The Teams in this years mechgames have introduced a new trend which follows in all teams, the trend is : This years most popular mech is the Hunchback. The Steiner Totemkopfs beat up the belt pirates pretty good this week. After Totemkopfs wining the bidding, which was quite hard, steiner used their well known charge-kill-and-mutilate-all tactics. Two of steiners medium mechs did some severe damage to mean machines although outnumbered and out-gunned. The two mighty mechs in this fight,the king crabs had a massive blast out on each other, in which the steiner Crab was victoious. The pirates crab exploded before the pilot Terminator X could surrender. But you must say that Terminator X had bad luck, missing very much with its powerful Autocannons in easy situations. After losing a couple of pilots and an equal amount of mechs belt pirates bugged out with an Archer and a Trebuchet. -Markus Ohlander DISHONOR FOR KURITA ! ! ! Kuritan Yoda Family was crushed by Redjack Ryans The Old Commies with 18 to 6. The Commies tactics beat the kurita tactics like an elephant crushing a beetle. The old hardliner tactics from the-good-old-days didn't impress the commies at all and crippling a Hunchback after only 45 sec, the commies showed were the ball woulkd bounce. This is the most dishonoring defeat in a long time for kurita. This match also featured a King Crab shoot out ending with a kurita surrender. The only thing that can be held against old commies is the bidding: They refused to bid after the intial kurita bid. The Commie leader HoChi Minh said after the match: "-This was a victory for the little men, although we knew it from the start". We'll see if he's that cocky in the future. -Mike Reebok COLLECTED NEWS: Liao Death Heads could cash in a sponsorship this week givivng 600000 C-bills the sponsor is "Chicken Chocolate" which will appear on their mechs in the rest of the season. Ghost Riders teamleader Moa Tse Pung left the team for a command at "home". Ghost Riders got the replcement of a academy "desk-warrior" bringing a Flashman(Laugh, Laugh). The Old Commies got a PPC and a Autocannon 5 from an admirerer, probably some left wing steiner politician. The reason should be that "The games of war is not good to humanity cause its creating a false picture that war is like a game of football, and its contestants are looked upon as heroes by children". Davion fought their alliance brothers this week and was victorious,but the price was high. Brady bunch won the bidding with amazing 88 Pts!!!!! But it showed out that such hard bidding was a grave mistake. Davions mechs took the heaviest damage seen this year in the games. Totemkopfs King Crab swept the floor with the outgunned Bunch causing the Bunch to flee like rats. ”The fear for the King is greater then the fear for death”-A. Kerensky Although the Bunch succeded in crippling two steiner mechs before being forced to flee. But the casulties on davions side was far greater with one mech completely destroyed. You can absolutely say that one more victory like this and the Bunch WILL be destroyed. Ghost Riders won Pirate Battle Ghost riders won the greatest victory so far in the games with the numbers 27 to 9 against the Red Old Commies. The riders started on a good position for their AC firing mechs like it’s two Wolftraps and crippled a Trebuchet. After that the commies closed in and had all the riders at the edge of destruction but failed to get the killing shot. Instead Hubchback pilot Idi Amin shot the head of the charging King Crab of the Commies and that changed the tide of the battle. With the King down the riders could hunt the rest of the commies mechs down with their Hunchbacks. With this victory the Ghost Riders takes the lead in the series with an amazing 49 points,which is the record after only 2 weeks. KURITA REGAINING HONOR!!! Kurita utterly crushed the pirate gang from the Belt Pirates with the greatest victory so far, 22-0. Belt Pirates started the battle in the woods a showed some good tactics in staying there so the Draconians had to come to them. But the Yoda Family showed no fear and charged the Pirates. A Kurita Firestarter burned the hell out of a Hunchback causing it to explode, killing its pilot Grim Reaper, but you must say that the pirates miss a LOT. So it may just be time to change some old computers! After the battle Yodas far said”- We are back in this now and you are going to see some heavy action out there” Hell Surfers-Death Heads 0-11 COLLECTED NEWS: SPIES!! A Davion spy under cover with the Mean Machines came ”home” this week. This is a heavy loss to the machines losing a mech and a pilot. Red old commies acted security guards on the duke of Graaz’s weddeing this weekend collecting some Bills. Ghost Riders pilot Kamikaze Ulk has showed great class in the recent battles and it’s said that he is getting private training from some old elite pilot. The Yoda Family scored a incredible sponsorship this week with the notorious Mechsim Corporation the maker of the best Mechsim programs nowadays. The Family are to test new simulators for the company. The only truth GAMEWEEK Brings the latest to you * Issue 3 TRAPPERS!!!!!! Liao Detah Heads showed some good old sceem-trap-and-kill tactics early this week when they scored an easy victory against the SteinerTotemkopfs(17-0). Death heads entered the battlefield at a good position while the Totemkopfs had to croos some woods and foothills. Death Heads had a good time of grouping themself before the firing started, so when the Totemkopfs came out of the woods they met an hailing storm of uranium heavy autocannon fire backed up by crippling LRM fire. The battle was over in a couple of minutes when the Totemkopfs commander Der Fuhrer realised that they had lost the battle and surrendered. The Surrender was right in time because if they had been fighting on, they would have taken catastrophic losses. Reports from sian is that the news of liao successes in the games have trippling the viewer statistics in the latest TV-stations ratings. People are buying caps, shirts, stickers and all kinds of stuff to show their happiness over the Liao succsess. Also worth noting is that PVT Zombie scored his third kill when he shot the head of Kesslers Rifleman. Kessler died instantly (R.I.P.). --Dick Rambo NO MATCH FOR THE SURFERS!! Although a quite boring battle it was the first victory for Mariks Hellsurfers (3-0). The only real action in this battle was between the Machines Hunchback and the Mariks Axman, which of course was a dead battle for the hunchback which surrendered after som heavy firing. After the surrender of the Hunchback the rest of the machines mechs Bugged out, leaving only the vitors on the battlefield. --Markus Aahlander SHAME SHAME SHAME !!!! That is the only words you can say when Davion (yes DAVION) lost against the Red Jack Ryan team Red old commies with 19-3. And it wasn’t any ol’loss but a real mutilation, killing two pilots and blowing one mech to dust. The Bunch and the Commies started in opposite positions of the desert battlefield. As they closed in Davion stayed back with some mechs without any known reason. The commies made it short with a Valkyrie which went into dust and nearly disappeared in the desert. Without the firepower to match the commies, due to lousy tactics, the bunch could only try to withdraw. The bunch escaped with two mechs, the rest surrendered or were otherwise inmobilised. With Davion losing and losing one can wonder if they can afford to send any warriors to the Mechwarrior of the Universe Competition in one week. --Mike Reebok YODA FAMILY Vs. GHOST RIDERS 5 - 15 Due to that Mike Reebok took a vacation we could not have this match under any surveillance. Although people say it was one of the best matches so far in the games and that the Yoda Family had begun to use their two Firestarters in a good sense. COLLECTED NEWS: The Yoda Family’s member Yodas Mother recieved an brand new locust from her deceased Grandfather. Ghost Riders Tech had an accident this week breaking his arm and will be away for one week. Mean Machines scored a sponsorship which gave them one million and one mech this year. The type of mech has not been revealed yet. The sponsoring company is Metafor-Semiconductors Inc. Davion keeps calling in their spies, this week Oliver North of the Hellsurfers went away to the Davion camp. He took his 80-ton Axman with him. The only truth GAMEWEEK Brings the latest to you * Issue 4 ALL OUT W A R !!!!!!! From 0600 this monday is Liao in war with Davion. That message came from Sian this morning, this will probably have some affect on the games. No comments have been heared from nor of the involved parts. Liao border forces have been attacking cities all along the Capellan March. Reports is that they have had initial succes. We will follow the consecuences of this war closely. RUNAWAY!!! Kurita scored another loss when they bugged out on the Liao Death Heads this week. A recon Firestarter was crippled by a Liao Rifleman and some support fire from an Archer and a Crusader. After that the Kuritans felt that they were running into a trap and bugged out. Liao is continuing to have great luck with starting positions. Although rumors is that agents from Kuritan had reported that the war was coming and that was the reason for their withdraw. -Mike Reebok UNTOUCHABLE OFFICIALS After a bribing attempt from the Steiner Totemkopfs, which was discovered by the Death Heads, the match was declared a win for the Ghost Riders win 10-0. -Dick Rambo CAREFUL TACTICS Hellsurfers and the Old Commies battled the first draw match this week with the score 0-0. Nothing realy happened, just some LRM changes. Worth noting is that the Commies scored the highest bidding score so far with 124 Pts. This was achived by bidding away 3 mechs! Everybody says this was a Battle of Cautiosness for the coming Competition, especially from the brilliant tacticians THE HELLSURFERS. -Mike Reebok DAVION MAY THEY REST IN PEACE! Davion's Bray Bunch is dead. LATE this week the team from Belt Pirates utterly crushed the Bunch to Nothing. This was the second loss that Davion had against pirates and that isn't popular at home. Rumors is that Hanse himself is getting pissed. With coming war between Liao and Davion and the reinfocements that Liao have been getting perhaps Hanse will send something to his old favorite Mechgame team. The battle started close in with the Belt pirates Hunchback tipping the Bunch's Panther very early. The Hunchback and the Panther then had some firing at eachother tipping eachother over a couple of times until the Hunchback got the overhand due to good LRM support. With a continuing barrage of deathgiving LRM fire the Mean Machines blew the Panther to hell, Luckily though the Bunch's teamleader Burt Brady escaped alive. The heat from the explosion shut down both the Archer and the Victor. This was the end for Davion. The victor lost his head to the Hunchback's AC and the ARcher Surrendered. Match Result 0-12. -Dick Rambo COMSTAR HAS ARRIVED ! ! ! ! Comstar troops has arrived in system with one jumpship, fully loaded. Comstar has apparently deceided that the games mus come to an end. Mechgames high officials has denied comstars demands of putting a stop to the games. As told earlier Comstar is sending a crack unit -The White Sharks of Blake. This unit have seen alot of action compared to other comstar units. But as the say goes among Mechgamers: Don't count us out until we're dead and buried. We all hope that they won't come inplanet cause if they do we're in trouble. All defense forces on the planet are the warriors and their mechs. One can also suggest that no help will come from our head sponsor, Davion. Let us all prey and hope that this is only a Comstar muscle Show. -Mikhail G. COLLECTED NEWS: The Yoda Family's tech Yodas Slav fell from a Hunchbacks head when repairing it catching a severe concussion, and will be at the hospitalall week. Liao Death Heads had a delivery made to them on the night to friday. Two mechs were smuggled into their bay under much secrecy. They were identified by one of our best reporters as one Archer and one Assassin. These mechs have been on the way from sian for some time and must be a support to the Death Heads in case of trouble during the war. Hellsurfers could haul in a huge sponsorship from the Marik Irian Battlemechs Unlimited. The company is famed for its popular and very good HermesII. The sponsorship consisted of 2 millions and one mech each season in four seasons. The Brady Bunch's now dispossessed teamleader was called to new avalon this week his replacement will arrive to week five. Burt Brady did nothing to better his reputation when he had a fight with a Mechgame official, spending the night in prison. But in our last battle the so called pride of the Combine didn't do any better then you could expect from some rat-packt periphery pirate. So i send an urge to Luthien to send a new team capten or change the hole team. Some of the readers of this article may find this notion absurd ,but give a thought to all poor pirates and mercenaries, who doesn't have unlimited cash funds. These teams might even have to quit the series. The feared Auto 20 is the most dangerous weapon as it does the most damage. The poor teams (pirates, mercenaries and Liao) MUST agree to this notion. MECHWARRIOR OF THE UNIVERSE EXTRA ! ! ***************************************************** This years mechwarrior of the universe is TOM TOMPSON of the Brady Bunch(Davion). This came pretty unexpected for everyone involved. He had the lightest mech his trusty 50-tons Hunchback. He started the battle in the upper right corner of the battlefield between on Atlas.100 and one Hatamoto-Chi.80. He the quickly smashed a round from his Tomodzuru Autocannon type 20 in the Liao Atlas left leg, distracting him from the Steiner King-Crab of the Totemkopfs stalking in from behind. The Atlas turned his great machine of destruction at Tom when a round from the Steiner Crab slammed into it's back torso piercing through the armor and damaging the gyrostabilizers causing the Atlas to fall to the ground. With the Atlas finished and surrendered after only 4 minutes Tom advanced to the east towards the Hatamoto-Chi. At the same time the Steiner King came stomping after Tom but, luckily for him, out of range. At the far east of the Battlefield the Oberon Orion had a shootout with Redjack's King Crab, which caused the Orion to run West to escape the deathgiving uranium shells from the twin AC20's. Further south the Marik Jagermech angaged the Kurita King-Crab at long range forcing the King to advance while taking damage. With the King out of range the Orion, Piloted by the star-pilot Kamikaze Ulk, engaged the Belt Pirates Hatamoto-Chi standing on a foothill. The first shot hit the chest the other one the head, ripping it off and killing Ake. With the Chi out of action the Orion turned back to the King who now fired at the Marik Jagermech. Kamikaze knew he must finish the Commies King fast or else he would face two of them, cause the Kurita King-Crab came advancing from the south, fast. The Orion took two hits from the King before he could finish him off with a skillful shot in ...... yes, the head. Kamikaze the took shelter in the foothills just north of Mariks Jagermech to wait for the Kurita King to appear. Up north Tom Tompson had advanced into cover by the hills where the Belt Pirates Hatamoto-Chi had stood a minute ago. Behind the hills he waited for the Steiner King-Crab to come into position to be engaged. He the sprinted up the hill and fired his cannon seconds before the King would have, Because this was Tom's lucky day the shot had struck the Kings camopy crushing it to junk. Ecke didn't have a chance to eject and died instantly. Kamikaze engaged Yodas Far in melee. They battered eachother hard with the result that the King staggered and fell. The Orion hit and hit but the King stood up and fired his cannon ripping heaps of armor away from the Orion. Kamikaze without ammo, took the decision, Eject. After finishing Ecke of Tom sprinted to engage Yodas far in the south. Unluckily the experienced Yodas far had the first shot. The round slammed into the chest of the Hunchback and the energy was so forceful that it damaged the gyro. Tom fell to the ground. With no ammo left Yodas Far turned to the Marik Jagermech to finish him off. The faster mech of Marik could use the hit-and-run tactics against the slower King-Crab until his ammo ran out. Yodas Far cornered Mike Torello and made it short with him with a couple of kicks. Tom was struggling heavy to get his mech on feet but with no sucsess. With the King sprinting in for the kill Tom fired his arm mounted Medium laser and one SRM rack. Nearly all his fire went astray. Yodas Far hit Tom hard with his steeled limbs but the Hunchback was still operating, but Tom knew from his instruments that he could not take another serie of punches and kicks from the King. Tom bet everything on one card firing his laser ignoring the heat, the ruby beam flashed through the air scoring right in the HEAD, melting armour and thrusting it into the cockpit. Tom then prepared to eject if the damage from the Kings hands would overcome his mech. But the King stood still as if deserted, smoking from the cockpit. He then remebered seeing that Mike Torello had scored some hits in the head with his AC's. Then he heard the voice of the matchjudge in the speakers. He was the WINNER. This Year Prize Was a 55-tons Hoplite and 1 Million C-Bills. Comments: This competition was very interesting in many ways. One is that Davion is back on the scene that is good in thought of the war between Davion and Liao. And when the going gets tough Liao goes ejecting. Kamikaze Ulk also showed his great class by scoring two headkills. Marik's Mike Torello also showed his great tactic skill. As final: This years competition was the deadliest in the games history. --Mike Reebok COLLECTED NEWS: Mean Machines Mega Death had a car accident but will be back already next week. Ghost Riders Ghandi!! had a fight against an high judge on friday eve he will be away for one week. Death heads scored a sponsorship from General Motors giving one mech and two millions per season in three seasons. Brady Bunch also got a sponsorship with the same advantages as Death heads but the sponsor is anonymous. Hellsurfers new pilot Agent Cooper was contacted by a mech collector offering him an Atlas.100 in change for his Mauler.90. Klick on pic for next page
